Change – is it always for the better?

“You have changed so much!” This single statement can be heard a lot nowadays. Why do you think changes occur? Let’s see, is it because you think you need to become a little different to adapt to this society. Or you think that your thinking need to get along with today’s world. There maybe a zillion reasons for anybody to change, but the only constant thing in the world is “change.”

Changes are not only restricted to human beings. It varies to n number of things, from seasons to kitchen appliances to one’s individual taste of perfume. Seasons change from summer to spring to summer to fall (autumn) to winter. People change from being mean to kind or vice verse.  You may like apple pie now but later on pizza may become your favorite food. Sometimes certain things seem so temporary, that you tend to change them in a blink of an eye. You may seem to develop a crush for someone now, but later on that person may not seem that much attractive to you. You may think,’ maybe mood-swing is having a go with me.’ But is it really mood-swing?

Every change has its previous version. Your love for someone reduced over time, but does anyone consider what it felt when you both were deeply attracted towards each other. How you both behaved with each other before the change occurred. It’s fine if you changed, but do you give a second’s worth of thought as to whether the other person adapted easily to your change? The other person may still be missing the old you, but is that change in you allowing you to feel it? Its very much OK to move on and change in life, but the only question that remains is, “what about those people who loved the old you?” Are you trying to teach them how to change themselves too?
